Updates

What's changed, plainly stated. This is a one-person project, so updates happen whenever they happen — no schedule, no fanfare.

Why this stays anonymous

A few people have asked who's behind this. Fair question — and the honest answer is: one person, and I'd rather not say who.

Not because there's anything to hide. It's the opposite, really. I didn't want this to be about me — a face, a brand, a following. The whole point of Eve is that it doesn't matter who you are or who's listening; it's just there. Putting my own name and story front and centre felt like it would work against that. It would turn "here's something quiet you can use" into "here's a person you should trust because of who they are" — and I'd rather you trust it because it does what it says, not because of me.

I'm not a company, not a startup, not chasing anything. Just someone who's had plenty of quiet moments that could have used a steady, undemanding voice, and who had the time and the stubbornness to go and build one. That's genuinely the whole story. I'd rather stay out of the way of it.

Resources page added

A new page with gentle, non-professional tips for the quiet moment after an argument, plus a short list of real, currently-active organisations if you need more than a tip. Linked from the FAQ and the main navigation.

Voice fixed

Eve's spoken voice was defaulting to a robotic male voice on some browsers. It now actively looks for a calmer voice on your device instead of just taking whatever the browser hands it by default.

Passphrase removed

Eve used to sit behind a private passphrase while this was still being tested. That's gone now — the whole point is "open the page and talk," so it shouldn't have a lock on the door. A daily message limit per device does the job of keeping things sustainable instead.

bitemeseriously.co.uk goes live

Eve moved off a raw Vercel address and onto its own domain, with a proper landing page in front of it, email forwarding set up, and a Facebook page and Buy Me a Coffee page to go with it.

June 2026

Eve launches

The first working version: talk by voice or text, no account needed, calm and low-key by design. Built from scratch as a small, free companion for the in-between moments.
